“How DNA Made a Family Out of Strangers”

Webinar Presented by: Diahan Southard

Diahan Southard’s mother was adopted from an unwed mother’s home in Seattle, Washington and had no knowledge of her birth parents. Come learn how they were able to use a combination of genetic and genealogical tools to connect with their biological family, and how it has affected their lives. Leave with concrete ideas on how to apply these same methods to your own personal genetic genealogy endeavors, whether you are looking for your father, or your 3-times great-grandfather.

About the speaker: Your DNA Guide Founder Diahan Southard has been working in the genetic genealogy industry since its infancy. Both before and after earning a degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University, she worked for the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, a major pioneer in creating a correlated genetic and genealogical database.

Growing up with the budding genetic genealogy industry led her to found her company Your DNA Guide, where she provides personalized, interactive experiences to help people “ask their DNA” about their family history. She lectures around the world and is known for her fun, upbeat energy and a gift for making complex DNA concepts understandable.
