American Ancestors – http://www.newenglandancestors.org/ – A subscription-required service hosted by The New England Historic Genealogical Society. Rich source of New England genealogy Information. Can be accessed, free of charge on the SOCCGS computers (Service paid for by SOCCGS).
Ancestry – http://www.ancestry.com – Surname search engine which searches many databases, some are free, others require a paid subscription. Census records online for all census years, with an all-name index for 1850-1930, head of household index for 1790-1840. Ancestry can be accessed, free of charge, on the SOCCGS computers (Service paid for by the Mission Viejo Library).
Billion Graves Plus – http://www.billiongraves.com/ – This is the premium version of Billion Graves which allows you to see the location of the headstone in the cemetery. It also allows you to see nearby graves. With the Global Family feature you can see everyone that shares the same family name on a map sorted by city, county, state, country or even the whole world. (Service paid for by SOCCG).
British Newspaper Archives – http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/ – A subscription-required service which has British newspapers mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. British Newspaper Archives can be accessed, free of charge, on the SOCCGS computers (Service paid for by SOCCGS).
Family Search (Affiliate) – http://www.familysearch.org – Affiliate libraries have access to FamilySearch’s digital genealogical collections that are otherwise accessible only through a FamilySearch family history center. These digital records include images and names indexes. Has the complete 1880 U. S. Census, 1881 British Census, 1881 Canadian Census, International Genealogical Index (IGI), Ancestral Files and Pedigree Resource File.
Find My Past – http://www.findmypast.com/– A subscription required service which is based in England and has a huge collection of British Records. They are now expanding to the U.S. and many other countries. Fully searchable. Free of charge, on the SOCCGS computers (Service paid for by SOCCGS).
Fold3.com – http://www.fold3.com/ – A subscription-required service which has scanned images of a huge number of documents. Fold3.com can be accessed, free of charge, on the SOCCGS computers (Service paid for by SOCCGS).
My Heritage.com – https://www.myheritage.com/research?s=247536661/do/index– Based in Israel with U.S. offices in Utah and California, MyHeritage is one of the largest international genealogy sites with more than 80 million registered users. PRDH – https://www.prdh-igd.com/en/home – French Canadian parish registers and other nominative documents of the 17th and 18th centuries, computerised for research purposes by the Programme de recherche en démographie historique (PRDH) of the Université de Montréal. Over 710 000 certificates, including ALL baptisms, marriages and burials contained in Quebec catholic parish registers up to 1800.
